PBL (Project Based Learning)
When I made a Planter Box, I learned about math and carpentry. The math I learned will help me analyze stuff and keep it straight, or in spaces that need to be filled. If a building was falling down, I could analyze the angle to see which way it would fall to get myself ant others to safety.
I have done 15 projects and have learned at least 3 life skills per project. In the first one, I quit. Now at the last one, (this one) I try and try until I get it right. This project has taught me that some things, aren't as easy as the seem at first. I also learned how to make a website correctly. It was fun to do projects. I think that you should try and do it to.
The picture below is an apple, sort of like the energy pyramid. The green parts (or the sour ones) are Textbook Based Learning (aka TBL). This is where most classes are at on the apple because the student will remember or understand the topic for a test. After a week or so the student will forget what he just learned. The red parts, (the sweet ones) are Project Based Learning (aka PBL). The least that the student does in that class is applying the things that they learned to their lives.
